Successful New Year Resolutions

Every January, many of us get excited about making resolutions. Lack of willpower is people's top excuse for not following through.  The common resolutions involve behavioural changes. These include eating better, working out more often, or smoking less. Willpower—tenacious self-control—is necessary for reaching goals, many believe. There may be some mental muscle corresponding to willpower. But that's not the only means for creating better habits.  You can also achieve your goal by changing your environment.

Let's Talk About Me

When one of my new associates asked me to look at her “About Me” page, I was no better informed about her than before. She filled the page talking about how the client's life would improve after hiring her as a virtual assistant.   It is a good idea to explain this at some point. But it's not what potential clients are looking for when they read an “About Me” page.  They would like to learn your background and experience. You explain why they should trust you.  This is where you should list credentials, work experience and proven abilities. Tell why your location, distinctive approach and personal qualities will be assets. People expect a photo, too.

A Winning Referral Program

This is a simple tip that will apply to every market—regardless of the product or service. It should be a great motivator to try something new. Successful marketers develop the ability to turn their customers into advocates. Often, they don't even have to directly ask customers to refer them to others. Their willingness to offer that little extra wins customer loyalty and support. It only follows that satisfied customers will refer their friends and family to the place that will take good care of them. Providing quality service is the first step toward referrals, but you can readily take it the extra step. Marketing studies have shown that every satisfied customer will tell three other people about you. What do you think would happen with a little incentive added to the picture?

Effective Content Marketing

There was a time when a great website was key. As the internet developed, email marketing became an important addition. Today, you have to make sure your audience knows and trusts you. You must do this through the right content marketing mediums.  How do you do that? By developing marketing content that positions you as a knowledgeable, trusted, competent source.  You cannot lag with your content marketing strategy. You will be lagging in communicating the value of your business.
